Anglican Gradual and Sacramentary
David Allen White is making the Anglican Gradual and Sacramentaryavailable, at no cost, to all folks who are interested in
the work. We will let David Allen describe the work in his on words:
"The Anglican Gradual and Sacramentary is something
like the Anglican Missal, in that it provides the traditional anthems
(sometimes called the minor propers) and special prayers and other texts,
but it is designed to be used with the 1979 Prayer Book, Lesser Feasts and
Fasts, and the Book of Occasional Services, and it provides not only traditional
language but contemporary English and Spanish.
"Because of its size (it is 22 volumes and takes as much shelf
space as the Encyclopedia Americana) is was not considered commercially
marketable. One other criticism of The Anglican Gradual and Sacramentary
is that, by being the work of a single individual, it is more than slightly
idiosyncratic. It represents what I know and have seen, and although I think
my scholarship has been extensive, there will be others who will find parts
of it peculiar.
"I have spent the last 9 years transcribing it into a computer.
It is now complete and I have made one printed copy for the Library of Congress
and I will make a limited number of others." David Allen White
What is in it?
- Propers for every day in the Church Year

As David Allen White makes the files available we will be posting
them here on this web site. The files will be made available in Word Perfect
8 format, Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, and others if there are enough
the fonts needed for these documents except the Greek fonts are found on
the download page.
We have established
an email list at http://groups.yahoo.com/
so that folks can make announcements, ask questions, and share information.
The yahoo groups site also allows each subscriber to post files and will
have an archive of all posts. You may subscribe and handle your subscription
by going to the website. The list is:
We may have partially solved the problem of the Greek fonts
with accents and breathing marks. We are using a program called "Son of
WinGreek which is a great little shareware program that turns any word processor
into a Greek Word processor. See the link below. We are leaving all Word
Perfect as David Allen White created them, but we are modifying the MS Word
files to show the Greek correctly. You will need the Greek Old Face font.
Greek Old Face.ttf and "Son of WinGreek" shareware program at: http://www.uni-bonn.de/~ute404/SoWG.html
MS Word Viewer may
be found on the download page.
Adobe Acrobat viewer may be found on the Adobe website.
FILES AVAILABLE ON CD
CD's with all the files are available. The CD's are $12.00
US. There is no shipping charge in the US or Canada. Outside the US we ask
to you add $2.00 to pay for the extra postage. We will not be making money
off of the CD's. The fee is to cover our expenses for blank media, packaging,
postage, and other expenses. We will have to take each CD sent overseas to
the post office to declare it for customs and to seal it in front of a postal
employee. The person recieving the item will be responsible for any duties
and taxes. The button below is for Pay Pal. If you prefer you may send me
the order direct. Be sure to include your name and address along with your
money order in US funds. I will confirm all orders that have an email address.
